Legend lines and the Hall of Legends
Every Legend horse in Padooko belongs to one of fifteen legend lines. The line tells you who the horse is: how it looks, what it does differently on the track and how rare it is. Collecting the lines is Padooko's longest-running goal. This guide covers the lines, the album, Line Stars and the Hall of Legends.
What does a line give?
Each line carries three things:
- Look: every line has its own coat, mane, blaze, socks and aura color. You can tell two horses of the same line from across the track.
- Talent: every line has a talent of its own, always visible on the horse's card. Some lines shine at the gate, some in the straight, some in the yard or at the stud.
- Grade: lines differ in rarity: Classic, Select, Rare, Very rare and Unique. The rarer lines generally give horses with higher ceilings and greater value.
The lines' names and stories are the game's own fiction; each tells a one-sentence legend that fits its character.
A few of the lines
Each of the fifteen lines has its own way of winning. Some examples:
| Line | Talent | Who it suits |
|---|---|---|
| Yelkara | Yelkara fire: a clearly wide rhythm window, a hard burst | Riders who time the urge well |
| Cesur Pilot | Last 200: a harder, longer kick in the straight; a little slow from the gate | Fans of closers |
| Yavuzkan | Photo finish: a much harder burst in the final 400 with a rival alongside | Head-to-head finishes |
| Kafdağı | Iron legs: rarely injured, recovers quickly | Yards that race often |
| Minima | Late bloomer: gains more from training | Patient trainers |
| Caşkun | Stallion line: raises a foal's potential and its chance to move up a tier | Breeders |
| Türbin | Türbin power: a very fast start and high top speed; the price is a high injury risk | Sprints |
| Kara Havyar | Sprint queen: very strong at the start and at top speed; a slightly shallow tank | Sprints |
| Kâtip | Big heart: a very hard kick in the straight, a deep tank | Long straights |
| Frenkel | Frenkel class: speed, stamina and rhythm, all a level above | The rarest line of all |
The other lines (Gündönümü, Ribelya, Kartaca, Hazinem and Cengâver) wait in the album with talents of their own. Some lines only ever come as mares.
A line's talent is strong, but the power value that balances fields counts it too. A Legend races against horses of its own level; its line gives it a distinctive way of running, not an unfair edge.
Where do Legends come from?
- Crates: a Silver Crate very rarely holds a Legend, a Gold Crate rarely. The line of a Legend from a crate is drawn too, and lines missing from your album are favored in that draw.
- The Legend Crate: not for sale. It's the voucher you earn for writing a tenth line into your album, and it guarantees a Legend from a line you don't have yet.
- Breeding: a foal of a Legend parent can be born a Legend, and if it is, it carries that parent's line. See Breeding.
- The market: you can buy Legends other players put up for auction. See Market.
For the kinds of crate and the tiers, see Horse tiers.
The album
Every Legend that joins your yard writes its line into the album. The line stays in the album even if you sell the horse later. The album is one collection; the counter, "3/15" for example, shows how many lines you have. A line you don't have yet shows its rarity grade and "Can come from a crate," never odds.
The album has four milestones, each paid once:
| Milestone | Reward |
|---|---|
| Three lines | The "Line Hunter" title |
| Six lines | The "Line Master" title and a Gold Crate voucher |
| Ten lines | The "Line Legend" title and a Legend Crate voucher |
| All fifteen (full album) | The "Collector" badge and a gold yard plaque |
Line Stars
When you have a second Legend of the same line, it doesn't go to waste. You have three options: sell it, keep it in the yard, or give it to another Legend of the same line. If you give it, the copy leaves your yard for good (its gear goes back to the shelf and your album count doesn't drop), and the horse that stays earns a star.
Stars go from ★1 to ★5. Each star makes the horse genuinely stronger:
- Its Speed, Acceleration and Stamina rise a little straight away.
- Its limits rise a little too, so it can climb further with training.
- Its peak lasts longer.
- The positive effects of its line talent grow (a line's known costs, like Türbin's injury risk, stay the same).
- Its market value goes up.
A copy's own stars aren't lost: giving a starred copy passes its stars on to the horse that receives it. ★4 and ★5 horses wear a glowing aura and plate of their own, in the yard and on the track. Every star has a Doko fee, and the fee grows with the star.
A few rules to know:
- Stars go with the horse: sell a starred horse and the stars pass to the buyer.
- Stars don't pass to foals; a foal carries its own line and its own blended ceiling.
- A horse entered in a race can't give or receive a star until that race is over.
- Any Legend counts as a copy, whether it came from a crate, the stud or the market.
The Hall of Legends
The COLLECTION tab is your yard's showcase: the Hall of Legends. The legend you choose stands on its podium in the light of its line's aura, and the left and right arrows take you through all fifteen lines. Each line's rarity stars, whether it's in your album, its story and its talent are all here. Below, the milestones run along a trail: the claimed ones checked, the next one glowing. In the gallery, the fifteen lines' collection cards are laid out starting from the rarest, their frames in the metal of the line's grade. Lines missing from your album wait as locked silhouettes.
From the Hall you can go straight to opening a crate; if a Legend Crate voucher is waiting, the button offers to open that.
Collecting tips
- Save up vouchers: the daily reward week, weekly quests and the weekly cup all pay out crates.
- Don't rush to sell a duplicate Legend; a Line Star is often worth more.
- Put your Legend mares to work at the stud: the line can pass to their foals.
- Keep an eye on the market: the line you're after sometimes turns up in another yard's listing.
